The DQ tapers increase tip power, and have the butt reserve to transfer power well into the cork when asked, and will deliver the longer bellied classic Spey tapers with a sensual authority that is a joy to have in hand.

Scandi shooting heads, and classic underhand power delivery technique will inherently require tip loading. The Affinity DQ spey fly rod blank tapers with a very economic stroke, utilizing only minimal applied dominant underhand power. Minimal anchor “touch and go” deliveries typical of classic Scandi shooting head line systems will require utilizing only the top 2/3 of the DQ tapers for maximum performance.
