We recently had the opportunity to build something a little different – a custom fly rod kit in Auckland Grammar School’s colours.

Finished in deep midnight blue with yellow and navy thread wraps, the rod also featured the school’s name and crest.

There’s something pretty special about building a rod that connects to your own school story. The colours, the crest – all the memories wrapped into every detail. Then that first cast… it just hits different. It’s a rod you’ll want to hang onto. Maybe even pass down one day.
