The Vapor Trail is a beautifully fine profile blank that cuts through the air with minimal resistance. Loading evenly with a smooth large arc, the Vapor Trail will launch light lures a very long distance, while retaining strength and power to control the fish.
Made using our highest modulus carbons, the CTS Vapor Trail has a medium progressive action.
The VT has a more moderate rod action that many Northeast anglers prefer, and an even flexing tip with the ability to work poppers, swimmers and bucktails beautifully.
The Vapor Trail series has an amazing amount of reserve power. They can stand up to a powerful cast and their pulling power can turn the most powerful fish in the strongest undertow. The rods are rated precisely and perform very well even at the extremes of their ratings.

As with a lot of our ratings, they are use and casting style specific. The Vapor Trail is a smoother casting action and the ratings are higher than the S7 or the BayCaster, meaning the Vapor Trail is more loaded with the designated cast range.Â

Picked up my first CTS blank in 2008 (VT, 4-8 oz model). Been sold on them since then. Have used them in the surf and in tailwaters below dams for striped bass and bluefish. Since 08 I have picked up the VT in 3-6 oz (11′), 1-3 oz (11′), and 2-4 oz (10′) and the bay caster (10 foot, 40-50lb). Those last two and a second VT 3-6 oz (broke the upper 4 inches off the one I had, refurbished and its still in use), were purchased over the last few months. Finally had the chance to put the Bay Caster to a good test. Hooked and landed a 25 pound striper in good current. Handled the fish just fine and plenty of back bone for larger fish. The 3-6 VT has been my goto rod at the tailwaters for years. Throws pencil poppers a mile, works them well, and has put many 20 to 35 pound stripers on the rocks. Excellent rod blanks and a good company to deal with. Certainly can recommend them.

This rod is light and very crisp. I’ve been using 2oz casting bubbles and lures and this blank throws them effortlessly. I have yet to use heavier lures, but did try throwing 3 and 4 oz lead weights and it isnt a problem. So far, the largest fish I’ve caught is an 8 lb blue trevally, which was no match for this rod. It’s fast become my favorite.
