The Rodsmith’s Guild has honoured CTS founder, Stephen Pratt, with the distinction of Master Designer / Maker.
The Rodsmith’s Guild™ is a trade guild dedicated to identifying and distinguishing the skilled craftsmen and artisans that are practicing in the rodsmithing Trades. A Designer is regarded as the ‘architect’ of the rod blank – designing and developing tapers, material composition and technical makeup, while a Maker is the actual manufacturer of rods and rod blanks.
The title of Master is the most advanced in the Guild’s trade classifications of Apprentice, Journeyman and Master. It is reserved for individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to produce quality work, while also teaching others.
