This year the tournament was held in three stages and the third and final stage took place on the 8-9th of September in Novosibirsk. One of the aims of the competition, apart from deciding who is the best fly caster, is to help develop and popularise fly fishing in Russia.
Sergey Gatsenko took out first place of the third stage. Sergey used a CTS Competition Cast 10’ to win the Sea Trout Distance fly casting discipline and won Stage III with the highest average score across the remaining disciplines.
“I can say the following about the CTS Competition Cast rod – I was pleasantly surprised! I only had the rod two days before the start of the competition and it was very different from my previous fishing rod. I followed the advice from my senior coaches and took the rod to the competition! It fully met my expectations – it allowed me to cope with a side wind and perform the farthest casting! After the competition, everyone could try this rod “in action” and all without exception gave him a high rating!” – Sergey Gatsenko
